Floor Refinishing Second Day

The floor finisher returned today to match stain and polyurethane the final coat. The color was eventually obtained using different stain color mixings and tested in various spots to see if it matched. Because the floor was coated the previous day with a clear polyurethane application, the tested areas were easily wiped up if the stain did not match. After the floor has dried, the next step would be a fine steel wool rubbing before waxing.

The next phase in the coming week will be pulling the electrical wiring from the existing electrical panel for the installation and hookup of some of the appliances and new kitchen and existing living room light fixtures. New light switches, dimmers and electrical outlets and a new speaker telephone will also be installed. The dishwasher and disposal unit will be hooked up later in the project after the countertops and sink are installed.
